The second Batch of matches in the ongoing Nairobi Metropolitan softball league took place at the United States International University (USIU) grounds on Saturday 8th 2013.

The second Batch of matches in the ongoing Nairobi Metropolitan softball league took place at the United States International University (USIU) grounds on Saturday 8th 2013.

The matches saw The Newly formed The Ryderz Softball club battle with league newcomers USIU in the first match. Ryders proved very strong for The States men by thrashing them 31 runs to 11. The Ryderz boasting a very experienced side dominated all the for three innings played snatching an average of ten runs in each. The states boys playing their first match played very well holding ryderz at bay in the first inning, according to their captain the team was satisfied with their performance and is confident of an improvement in the coming matches.

In the second match MMU Stormers played JKUAT Main’s “Team Wisdom” in a fierce match which saw the Rongai based “Stormers” awarded a win by the field umpire after some of Team wisdom players disagreed in the middle of the third inning. The dispute was however settled after the game.

The last match of the day saw reigning women’s league champions team phoenixes face former champs “Team Crusaders”. The phoenixes humiliated the crusaders by thrashing them 15 runs to nil after capitalizing on the poor pitching by the crusader’s to emerge the victors in the match.
